New Honda Passport Inventory

rnrn

Both the 2022 Honda Pilot and 2022 Honda Passport are capable and spacious SUVs. But, what is the difference, and which one is better for you? Allow us, your Honda Dealer near Long Island to help make the decision easier!

rnrn

Passport vs Pilot

rnrn

Both the 2022 Honda Passport and 2022 Honda Pilot are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, resulting in 280 horsepower and a base towing capacity of 3,500 pounds in both models. The biggest difference between these two Honda SUVs, aside from their design and appearance, is their overall size and capacities.

rnrn

The 2022 Honda Passport has seating for up to five adult passengers with a passenger volume of 115.9 cubic feet. The 2022 Pilot, the larger of the two SUVs, can seat up to 8 adult passengers in its three-row cabin, offering a greater passenger volume of 152.9 cubic feet.

rnrn

The Passport and Pilot offer a similar artillery of technology and safety features, with some differences found here and there. Both Honda models offer Honda Sensing® Safety & Driver-Assistive Technology for added safety and confidence on the road. Additionally, both models offer touchscreen infotainment centers with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity depending on the chosen trim level.

rnrn

Since performance, technology, and safety features are all virtually the same across both Honda models, it all comes down to how many passengers you are planning on seating. More than 5, go with the Pilot. Other than that, you really can't go wrong with either Honda SUV!

  • Replace Wiper Blades: Anyone who has had a windshield wiper peel off during a heavy spring rain knows that the icy cold of winter can be hard on blades. Even if your blades look like they are in good shape, replace them if they start to leave streaks on your windshield. A technician at our Port Washington area Service Center can change them for you with no issue.
  • rn

rnrn

    rn

  • Get Brakes Checked: Before the roads are constantly saturated with rain water, bring your car to get its brakes checked. Do you hear a grinding sound when you step on the brakes? If so, the brakes may need to be replaced. Even if you don’t think there’s a problem, it’s never a bad idea to have one of our technicians check them.
  • rn

rnrn

    rn

  • Change Oil and Other Fluids: It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have your car brought in for routine maintenance before embarking on the spring season. Change out your oil, refill your wiper fluid, etc. Better to be safe than sorry!

The temperature is dropping, the roads are getting icy, and the threat of a snowstorm is looming. Make sure your car is ready to roll through the snowy streets of Port Washington and the surrounding area or with these tips on how to prep your car for the winter:

rnrn

    rn

  1. rn
      rn

    1. Check your tire tread: When getting your car ready for winter, be sure to inspect your tires for tread wear and rotate them during every oil change. To check your tire’s tread, use the “Penny Test”. You do this by taking a penny and placing it in the tread groove of your tire. Place the penny with Lincoln’s head facing you, and stick the penny in the tread so that the top of Lincoln’s head is no longer visible. If his entire head is visible while in the groove, it’s time to replace your tires. Schedule an appointment with our service center to get your tires replaced.
    2. rn

    3. Consider snow tires: Switching to snow tires can help driving on snowy and slippery roads. Tip: snow tires make your MPG (miles per gallon) lower, so only put on snow tires during harsh winter months. Visit our auto parts department to see our inventory of winter tires.
    4. rn

    5. Change your oil and antifreeze: Regular maintenance to your vehicle can help to prevent any car troubles during months involving Long Island winter driving. Our service center will be happy to take care of that for you.
    6. rn

    rn

  2. rn

rnrn

    rn

  • Inspect your heater: Don’t get caught out in the Wisconsin cold this winter. Make sure your car’s heater is working properly to keep you and your passengers warm during these frigid months.
  • rn

rnrn

    rn

  • Inspect your battery. Your vehicle’s battery capacity lessens in cold weather. Be sure your car is prepared for the winter and have one of our professionals inspect your battery’s fluid and cables.

Driving in the snow is no easy task. The car and the driver must be prepared for the icy roads ahead of them. Here are some tips from your Hicksville area Honda dealer to help keep you and your passengers safe this winter.

rnrn

Tips For Driving In The Snow

rnrn

According to AAA, here are some crucial tips for safe driving in the snow:

rnrn

    rn

  • Drive slowly. Always adjust your speed down to account for lower traction when driving on snow or ice.
  • rn

  • Accelerate and decelerate slowly. Apply the gas slowly to regain traction and avoid skids. Don't try to get moving in a hurry and take time to slow down for a stoplight. Remember: It takes longer to slow down on icy roads.
  • rn

  • Increase your following distance to five to six seconds. This increased margin of safety will provide the longer distance needed if you have to stop.
  • rn

  • Know your brakes. Whether you have antilock brakes or not, keep the heel of your foot on the floor and use the ball of your foot to apply firm, steady pressure on the brake pedal.
  • rn

  • Don't stop if you can avoid it. There's a big difference in the amount of inertia it takes to start moving from a full stop versus how much it takes to get moving while still rolling. If you can slow down enough to keep rolling until a traffic light changes, do it.
  • rn

  • Don't power up hills. Applying extra gas on snow-covered roads will just make your wheels spin. Try to get a little inertia going before you reach the hill and let that inertia carry you to the top. As you reach the crest of the hill, reduce your speed and proceed downhill slowly.
  • rn

  • Don't stop going up a hill. There's nothing worse than trying to get moving up a hill on an icy road. Get some inertia going on a flat roadway before you take on the hill.
